     Portable Fencing Assembly Tips

  1

Splicing Poly Tape and Wire - It is important to have good conductivity through the connection when you join poly wire or tape. To do this, separate the metal strands by melting a strip of plastic threads with a match or lighter approximately 2" from the ends of each length. Pull the end off the plastic, being careful not to break the steel wires. Twist the steel wires together, then tie both ends of the poly wire or tape together. For joining 1½" poly tape, use a Tape Joiner H105. These also give good electrical contact.

 2

Tensioning the Wires  - Pull the tape or braid tight by turning the handle on a porta-reel. After tensioning the fence, block the reel by using the locking mechanism.

Then install all the portable posts.

 3

Construction of a gate in a portable fence -

      a. Determine the width of the gate and attach a piece of tape of the desired
length to the Screw-in Ring Insulator at the gate post.

      b. Attach a gate handle to the other end of the tape.

      c. Mount a gate anchor kit to other gate post. This is what you will hook your gate
          handle to.

 4

Using extra wire and Joint Clamps G603934-Wingnut conductors are interconnected at the reels.
