Battery/Solar
* Not
recommended. Insufficient power for this application.
Joules are a measure of power -- think horsepower
1.
Distance assumes multi-wire fence
Multi-wire means at least one hot wire and one ground wire running
entire distance of fence. If you
are running a single hot wire, proper
grounding is much more important, especially in dry conditions.
It doesn't matter how big an energizer you
pick, if the circuit cannot be completed because of lack of
proper grounding or lack of a return ground
wire. Single hot wire = choose a larger energizer.
2.
Ratings are for cattle and horses which are fairly sensitive to
electric fence
If you are using this on animals such as sheep or goats, choose at
least one energizer larger than
recommended on the chart. Choose at
least two energizers larger for predator animals such as
deer, dogs, coyotes, bears, etc. Call
if in doubt - We're happy to help! 1-800-477-7135
3. If
you have voltage leaking insulators, choose a larger energizer.
•Faded insulators generally leak voltage.
•Insulators which place the hot wire close to a conductive post
tend to leak voltage.
•Aged porcelain insulators can develop hairline cracks and leak
voltage.
4. Peace
of mind - If in doubt, call us to help you make a decision on the
right
energizer! 1-800-477-7135
•Are you protecting high value crops?
•Are you trying to keep predators out?
•Are you putting up a perimeter fence?
•Is this a feedlot?
If you answered yes to any of these, choose a larger energizer!
While an M300 might look adequate on the chart with the
appropriate vegetation load, if you are controlling sheep and have
poor insulators you may really need an M600 or even a M1000.
